High Efficiency Furnaces
When purchasing a new furnace there are many things to consider. The most important factors are quality, efficiency and comfort features. At Schaafsma, we offer a line of Bryant furnaces that have undergone rigorous testing to ensure that a quality product is provided. Individual components are carefully selected and worked into the furnace design.
Efficiency is best measured by the A.F.U.E. (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency) rating. This rating tells you how efficiently the furnace uses fuel. The higher the rating, the less fuel is used to heat your home. Schaafsma's line of Bryant furnaces include both mid-efficiency furnaces and high-efficiency furnaces.
Lastly, when evaluating a furnace one should look at the furnace’s comfort features. Additional features of mid- and high-efficiency furnaces include two-speed and variable-capacity. Two-speed furnaces have two heating stages. The higher heating stage is used for start-up or in extreme winter conditions only. These furnaces run for longer periods of time but at a low speed which results in a quieter operation and fewer off/on cycles, drafts and smaller temperature swings. Variable Capacity furnaces are equipped with "smart" motors that monitor and automatically adjust furnace volume and speed. These furnaces ensure the most efficient heating and cooling. Also, the "smart" fan motors use less electricity than the typical furnace.
To help you select the right furnace for you, we have highlighted three Bryant furnaces. Each is a quality furnace, but they vary with regards to efficiency and comfort features.

_Bryant Plus 80™, Model 395CAV UPFLOW 80% A.F.U.E. (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency)_
This model contains a four-pass, aluminized heat exchanger which draws the most heat possible from the fuel used. The exchanger is built for durability and is backed by a twenty-year limited warranty. With this cabinet, a Bryant high-efficiency air filter can easily be added. The Plus 80™ has hot surface ignition which eliminates a standing pilot to save energy. The furnace has enhanced efficiency with the inducer assembly. This draws the exact amount of air needed through the heat exchanger. A blower delay, to minimize cold drafts, is part of the electronic control provided by the furnace. It is backed by a three-year limited warranty. Lastly, this furnace has Bryant's exclusive blocked vent safe-guard protection. If the vent ever becomes obstructed, this feature automatically shuts down furnace operation.

_Bryant Plus 90t™, MODEL 352MAV - WITH PERFECT HEAT 93% A.F.U.E. (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency)_
This model is more efficient because it uses two heat exchangers to conserve energy and Perfect Heat™ technology along with an intelligent furnace control to select the best heating stage. The two heat exchanger system has the patented Everlastic™ polypropylene laminate coating to resist corrosion for years. The Plus 90t™ has a sealed combustion system which provides draft-free operation and reduced cold air infiltration. This model is also equipped with smart electronics, a patented furnace control board, which controls volume and speed to give the best combination of comfort and economy. All you have to do is set the thermostat.

_Bryant Plus 90i™, MODEL 355MAV - THE INTELLIGENT HEATING MACHINE_
_96.6% A.F.U.E. (Annual Fuel Utilization Efficiency)_
Featuring 2 stages of heating and an ultra efficient variable speed blower, Bryant’s Plus 90i is the most energy efficient gas furnace ever produced. The Plus 90i maintains temperature levels within 2 degrees (a standard furnace has a 4 degree swing). By operating at a low heating stage and low blower speed about 80% of the time, the furnace blower is then using only a fraction of the electricity used by a standard furnace. In fact, the blower may be the greatest asset of the Plus 90i. This will be the quietest furnace you have ever heard (if you can hear it!). Operating in low speed, the blower uses less electricity than a 100 watt light bulb. Compare that to a standard furnace blower using over 600 watts of electricity! Electrical savings alone may save you over $100 per year. A Bryant Plus 90i furnace may have annual total energy savings of over $400 compared to your existing furnace. The result is a very quick return on your investment.
