Thermal Imaging

What is a thermal image? In this case it's a picture of a wall and ceiling showing the different surface temperatures. Thermal imaging may be the best method for determining where a building lacks insulation or where outside air is leaking in. Below is an example of a picture taken with a thermal image camera. Most of the inside surface area of this room is 68 degrees, but you can see areas where the wall and ceiling are 62 and 66 degrees. By using the thermal imaging camera homeowners can see exactly where the insulation needs to be addressed. Many times adding insulation to the whole house is not needed. Fixing what is there and getting the insualtion in the right place will correct many problems. Call us about having a Home Comfort & Energy Audit done at your home.
