My old furnace developed major issues. Schaafsma responded same day and talked me through my options. The Tech called Rep who immediately left home to drive one hour to provide info on new furnace options. A new furnace was installed the next day by Matt. I was at work during the removal and installation process. Matt even gave my dogs Cookies I left to make them more at ease. When I returned home I couldn't tell they had been there except for the new furnace! Great job!
Instead of installing t he furnce I thought I was buying, I got an off brand which will be an issue when I sell my home.

Schaaafsma did a fantastic job installing our new water heater and air conditioner. We would recommend Schaafsma to family or friends.
Equipment appears to be installed correctly and is initially working well. Installers were efficient, courteous and friendly. Air conditioner is quieter than expected. Overall communication could be improved. The contract was confusing stating both that no payment was needed up front and that Half was needed. Getting this clarified took too many calls. While the initial scheduling was clear, no one contacted us about the time that the installers would arrive. We had to email the night before to discover what time they would be there. The dates scheduled were fine. It would have been helpful to have had a more specific itemized list of the specific components to be installed so we could have read up on how to use them before the installation date. Installers should be able to instruct new users in how the thermostat operates and its feature set. The pamphlet language is difficult to understand since it has awkward sentence construction and assumes a fair amount of knowledge from the reader. Too many acronyms are used for a lay person. It's unclear which feature sets may or may not apply to our installation. If the server is down on the Bryant Cloud (as it is now) it would really be helpful to have a more complete user oriented printed manual. It is helpful that Schaafsma has a help desk available during working hours but many calls might avoided if the manual were written better, more complete and understandable. It would be very helpful to have a general trouble shooting page regarding what the owner should check if something should go wrong. Conversely it would be helpful to have a written paper description of the best practices for using the furnace and air conditioner. The internet is a wonderful thing but it has problems. Paper is forever. It would have been helpful if Greg had provided information about this furnace's and AC Unit's requirement to connect to the web to find out the outdoor temperature. We would have liked to know if an outdoor temperature sensor was an option instead.

Quotes were thorough and follow-up questions during the decision process were responded to in a timely fashion. I appreciated Greg (sales) being able to work around my work schedule to provide estimates and options. With replacement of Furnace, Humidifier, Air Con, Water Heater and Thermostat, the two-day job ended up taking and extra half a day. It is likely not surprising, but since this is not something one would go through regularly (my first), it would help planning around work commitments to know that up front. The installers seemed to know it would take longer than the salesperson. Also, since the installation took longer and I was anxious to get back to work deadlines, it was difficult to think of questions about general homeowner maintenance at the end of the project. Might be helpful for both you customers and the installer if there was a written list of features and maintenance issues (for each mechanical) to review that included places to take notes. My recollection is the costly furnace filters were to last 2 years each. I have since found a written message from Greg (sales) indicating 1 year. So if Matt (installer) recorded a note about customer being misinformed, I apologize for that. It would be more convenient if filters were carried by local hardware stores. All 3 installers (Matt, Greg and Rick) were very courteous and considerate of keeping my home clean as they worked both inside and outside. They had to deal with a basement stairwell with a 90-degree turn which made their job harder. As far as the quality, I have to trust the installations are professional as I don't have a mechanical background. Everything seems to be in good order so far. My washing machine top was left with dirt and coffee rings in it. Some sawdust and wood pieces left on my garage floor that I cleaned up. There was an oily dirt dumped in my flower bed that I was not happy about. Left advertising sign behind. Workers were polite, on time, friendly, answered questions and got the job done in the allotted time that I had off from work. Overall good experience.
After almost 18 years our home ac and furnace decided they’d had enough in the middle of a very hot and humid spell. After a very complete assessment of our needs we decided to go with Schaafsma. It happened that the install would be on a Friday and a Monday. We were so grateful that their first priority was to make sure we had working ac for the weekend. Everyone we worked with from first call to sales to install was very professional and kind.

The quoted work from the salesman didn't match the work needed when the install crew arrived, but only in a relatively minor aspect however it did end up costing a little more than expected. I also had to be at home certain times to answer questions and that was an inconvenience. Everyone was polite and professional. The new furnace/AC look and work great.

We lost our heat over New Years weekend. The sales team came out to our house on a Saturday morning and by Tuesday the guys were there first thing in the morning. They worked so hard for 2 days installing our new high efficiency furnace, and when it didn’t work at first, they figured out the problem and fixed it. They were so polite and courteous in our house and they made the best of a challenging situation. We are very happy with our new furnace and your excellent service! Thank you so much!

Matt and Steve and the rest of the guys did a great job putting in our new HVAC system. They did a ton of work in a short amount of time. They were clean and neat and always polite. I would have them do work in my home again.

We initially had some issues with figuring out how to install a new system in conjunction with our old system, and how to get heat/AC to an addition. They did a great job with offering solutions, ended up going with a new system and a ductless mini-split for the addition and upstairs which works great. They also helped get financing. Exceptional!
